What is proper for the families of the bride and groom to pay for in regard to the wedding?
It’s less and less common these days for the bride’s family to pay for the majority of a wedding. This is probably because couples are marrying later, have started their own careers and have their own incomes, and feel uncomfortable expecting their parents (especially just the bride’s) to pop for a wedding that, on average, costs $20,000.
